USB Cord not detecting GPS device?

While updating GPS device sometimes USB not detect GPS device a common problem face by everyone. To fix follow the below steps:
1.Unplug the GPS device and try to reconnect.
2.Clean ports of GPS device as well as USB cord.
3.Disconnect the GPS device and turn it off and reconnect it.
4.If all above not worked try to use a different USB cord.
